30-04-2011: CLARIFICATION REGARDING JTO LICE for vacancy year 2009-10 under 20% quota , Exam to be held on 15-05-2011

Clarification regarding JTO LICE for JTO (E) has been issued as:
required condition:
1. the employee should be below 50 years as on 15-05-2011
2. the employee should have 3 years diploma on or before 01-07-2009
3. 10 years regular service in gr. C  as on or before 1st july of vacancy year.

30-04-2011: NEW CMD OF BSNL> RAKESH KUMAR UPADHYAYA

New Delhi, April 30: 

The Government today finally appointed Rakesh Kumar Upadhyay as the Chairman and Managing Director of telecom giant BSNL.

“He (Upadhyay) will join office (of BSNL chief) today,” the DoT Secretary, Mr R. Chandrashekhar, told PTI.

However, no decision regarding the appointment of MTNL chief, another public sector telecom major, has been taken.

A search-cum-selection panel had earlier selected Mr Upadhyay, CMD of Telecom Consultants India Ltd, for the BSNL chief’s post.

The panel was headed by Mr Sam Pitroda, adviser to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations, and included the Cabinet Secretary, Mr K.M. Chandresekhar, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr T.K.A. Nair, and the Unique Identification Authority of India Chairman, Mr Nandan Nilekani, as members for selecting the top officials of the two telecom PSUs.

Mr Upadhyay is a 1975 batch officer of Indian Telecom Services. He holds a B.Tech (Electronics) Degree from I T Banaras Hindu University and MBA (Marketing Management) Degree from the Indira Gandhi Open University.

NEW STAFFING NORMS OF BSNL-REGARDING

Management of BSNL initiated to introduce new staffing norms according to the existing connection, not according to the existing capacity of the system of fixed line services............ for appropiate utilization of the manpower. A.K.Garg Director (HR) issued letter to all the CGMs regarding the same on 27-04-2011. new staffing norms have to devised with a view to rationalize staff across the organisation and re-deploy the surplus staff in new areas  whee there are acute need e.g. mobile services, transmission, new business, enterprise business, customer relationship management, sales and marketing, etc.
 

DoT to seek Finmin nod to reimburse BSNL for loss-making rural operations

KOLKATA: The telecom department will shortly seek finance ministry approval to reimburse state-owned BSNL for all its loss-making ventures linked to its social obligation .

Reimbursement is being sought to compensate BSNL for its loss-making rural landline operations coupled with additional costs of upgrading all MARR-

Govt to announce appointments of BSNL, MTNL chiefs soon

The government today said it will soon appoint CMDs for state-run telecom firms BSNL and MTNL.
"Selection process for filling up of the posts of CMDs of BSNL and MTNL has been completed. Further action is underway," Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal today said while unveiling the Department of Telecom's 100-days action plan and achievements.

BSNL'S LOSS FOR FY'10-11 INCREASES 50% TO 2725 CRORE --ET NEWS

  State-owned telecom firm BSNL is expected to post 50% higher losses for the year ended March 31, capping a series of dismal results in the last four years that saw the erstwhile monopoly being reduced to a bit player in the fast-growing market. The unlisted company has told the government that it will post 2,725-crore losses for the year-ended March 11.

COURT CASE REGARDING JTO LICE

Earnakulam CAT has on 15th Mar-2011 given the verdict on the JTO Departmental Exam cases filed by several interests. As such the stay on JTO LICE automatically gets vacated.  The orders of the CAT are available on the website of Hon CAT, Ernakulam. Case Nos. (202/2010) & (254/2010). CHQ is further analyzing the order of Hon CAT and will take suitable necessary action including the legal recourse if needed further to make all the 4000 DRTTAs eligible in the exam. We expect that the management would take notice of the sentiments and the just right of the DRTTAs and would conduct the exam at the earliest by incorporating the vacancies up to 31st Mar-2011.

BSNL'S FY'11 LOSSES INCREASES TO 2725 CRORE.

BSNL's financial loss for the year 2010-11 ( upto 31 st march 2011) is expected to loss 50% higher than the previous year. it is expected to be the amount of 2725 crore where as in the previous financial year the net loss was 1823 crore.

AP Circle is top gainer with MNP in the circle.

Andhra pradesh Circle is the top gainer among the circle upto 17 th march 2011. BSNL in these circle bucks the maximum port-in comparatively with the private operators. BSNL's net gain more than (+35,306) where as second topper Airtel having (+15,381) and Vodafone having (-16,578), reliance(-7484), Aircell (+3515).
In orrissa BSNL having the little net gain with MNP. But punjab and Haryana are the most looser of subscriber on account of MNP. In punjab and Haryana net loss respectively 45,327 and 53,429 nos upto march 17 , 2011.
So BSNL can do and made fight with pvt. operator but we have to try more hard. BSNL is enriched with every thing sufficient staffs , equipments, systems but we need proper effective effort. so SNATTA Krishnagar Requesting Everyone to feel the need of the hour and try hard to SAVE BSNL. we are sure if we try to perform more we can make it success for BSNL.

what is the status of committee for pay anamoly of non-executive?

it is understood that when committee for pay anomoly of JTO post 2007 has conducted several times but still the committee for pay anamoly of post 2007 batch non-executive is existed in dark. all the executive association is fighting to save the post 2007 batch JTOs, but alas the non-executive who are facing the same fate as pay reduction, are in political bad patch being counted on vote. the recognized union has missed to catch the sentiments of the affected huge number of non-executives of post 2007 . Did they fail to represent 100% non-executive?. so freinds, it is the SNATTA which are continuosly trying in spite of all limitations and obstruction for the betterment of this cadre. Mind that by no means the unity should not be loosed. unity is the main part to fight. when SNATTA is working for you then you need to take active  part in working of SNATTA.  

GOVT TO APPOINT CMD OF BSNL THIS MONTH.

the Govt is likely to appoint the regular  CMD of BSNL within 2 or three weeks. the DOT has recieved application for the post even from the private sector. the last date of application was 18-03-2011.
this procedure is included in 100 days programme scheduled by Hon'ble MOC Kapil Sibal. The committe headed by Sam Pitroda, Charman knowledge Commission and Advisor to Prime Minister along with UIDAI Chairman Nandan Nilekani, principal Sceretary to Prime Minister TK NAIR and Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar.
